National Achievement Survey (NAS) is a nationally representative large-scale survey of students’ learning undertaken by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. NAS gives a system level reflection on effectiveness of school education. Findings help compare the performance across spectrum and across population in order to find the desirable direction for improvements.

National Achievement Survey-2021 was scheduled on 12th November 2021. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has developed the Assessment Framework for gauging the competencies attained by the students vis-a-vis learning outcomes. The Survey goes beyond the scorecard and includes the background variables to correlate student’s performance in different learning outcomes vis-a-vis contextual variables. This national level survey was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) as Assessment Administrator for Grade 3, 5, 8 and 10 students of State Govt. schools, Govt. Aided schools, Private Unaided recognized schools and Central Government schools. Three Staff members and 18 student teachers of our Paavai College of Education had been assigned the duty of field invigilators in 18 schools of our Namakkal District.

From November 1st onwards, our B.Ed., students were deputed for 80 days  in nearby 23 Government high School and Higher Secondary Schools of Tanjore, Kallakurichi, Salem and Namakkal districts for teaching Practice to improve their teaching ability as prescribed in the curriculum . They successfully carry on their training programme with the co-operation of the guide teachers and Headmasters.

As a part of our academic programme, Seminars were conducted for B.Ed., students in their Core, Elective and Optional Subjects. The students themselves prepared and presented Papers on different topics assigned to them under the guidance of the Teacher educators.

We also thank the CEO, DEO of Namakkal and Salem for their continuous support in training our students in government schools of Namakkal and Salem Districts.

A good number of present batch of students have already been appointed as teachers in various schools and a few are pursuing post graduate studies. We are proud to say that 90% of the students have been appointed in government and private schools and a few run their own schools.

With the blessings of God, the Almighty, and the Blessings of the Management, the institution will definitely grow to its heights and serve the society. We thank the members of the Paavai Varam Educational Trust for their unending efforts to make this institution greater.

Thank you
